It is all too easy to view China as one homogenous region, but actually, the country has five very different climate types, each with unique contributions to the country, including the local fruit! The different regions create other divides, like the “Qin-Huai line”, going along the Qin Mountains and the Huai River, which divides which parts of the country have central heating (north of the line) vs. which parts don’t.
