Lets take one example: Inter Rhône, the committee for the promotion of Rhône Valley Wine, needed to assess the impact of its BtoB promotional campaign in the Chinese Wine industry. Inter Rhône contacted Daxue Consulting to benchmark the communication campaigns from Inter Rhône with those of other public organizations, analyze in-store promotions and map the decision making of wine importers and distributors in China.
Daxue Consulting used three different methodologies to conduct the research:
– store-checks in order to understand which products are currently sold in China, which one have the best shelf positioning and what promotions are currently implemented
– desk research to analyze the Chinese wine market, indentify competitors’ marketing campaigns and analyze their editorial line
– in-depth interviews with importers and distributors, to assess their perception of wines from the Rhône Valley and understand which dimensions they take into account before choosing a wine
The data collected from the three methodologies was then synthesized and filtered to deliver a complete overview of B2B campaigns in the Chinese wine industry before delivering recommendations on how to enhance the efficiency of Chinese B2B promotional campaigns.
