Zhengzhou (郑州) is a city on the south bank of the Yellow River (Huang He) in China. It is the capital of the Henan Province. Located in the center of the country, Zhengzhou is now a major transportation hub and rapidly growing city. To travelers, Zhengzhou is a convenient starting point to explore a series of Chinese cultural sites such as Kaifeng, Luoyang and the Shaolin Temple. The Shaolin Temple in particular is a famous tourist spot as it is the home of Shaolin monks, Chan Buddhism, and Shaolin Kungfu.

The ZCE is equipped with newly built facilities such as the Zhengzhou International Conference and Exhibition Center. City life and Shopping:

The city’s focal point is Erqi (February 7) Square (二七广场). This large public square comes alive at night, when the entire market fills up with vendors and locals looking to shop. From the square, several main streets fan out to different areas of the city.

Large department stores and international brands are concentrated around Erqi Square. The two major department stores are Kingbird (金博大) and Beijing Hualien (北京华联), which are located right next to each other. Both stores have supermarkets in their basements. In addition, the city antique market is a good place to find some interesting gifts.

Zhengzhou has a diverse range of Chinese cuisines. Zhengzhou’s central geographic location gives it access to nearly every cuisine from different regions throughout China. The city is also large enough to include non-Chinese cosmopolitan restaurants. For example, there are a number of Korean restaurants, Japanese restaurants, Indian restaurants, and Western options for customers too choose from.
