Can you introduce yourself and your background?
I got my double bachelor degree from East China Normal University, studying Philosophy and International Economics. I spent four years in Lyon, France and completed my MSc (Master of Science) in Management degree from EM Lyon Business School with a focus on strategic marketing. Before joining Daxue, I worked at Bayer CropScience (in Lyon, Fra
nce) for six months analyzing competitor intelligence, and later I was a CEO assistant in an exhibition company for four months.
What are you doing for Daxue Consulting?
As a project manager, my main duty is managing the project from A to Z as well as leading the research team. After receiving the project, I create a framework for research based on the client’s needs. The next step I go through is collecting and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data, and structure it into a research report that provides the customer with the answers to their questions as well as giving them our professional marketing recommendations.
What recent project did you work on? Do you have a specific sector you like to work on? Can you quote some clients in this sector?
I am currently working on several projects. One example is a project for a Chinese fashion & lingerie brand which consists of three parts: insights about fashion market in China, a consumer survey, and marketing suggestion based on findings from the first two steps. Another project I am working on aims to assess the China market of forest fire surveillance system for our client. The primary purpose is to understand the stakeholders involved in the market and the possibility for the client to enter the Chinese market.
What recent news did catch your eye in China? (Please speak about a Chinese market)
In late June it was announced that Walmart was going to sell Yihaodian (China’s largest online supermarket) to JD.com, based on the agreement that Walmart would receive 145 million of JD’s newly issued shares.
Any hobby in Shanghai? Where would be your first choice for a dinner / party in Shanghai?
I think yoga and photography are my main hobbies for now. I am not a big fun of partying, but I do enjoy having dinner in places such as Jing’an Temple, Lujiazui, and Century Avenue.
